The Senior Database Engineer is responsible for monitoring, administering, and implementation of database systems for GGINL as well as database performance optimization
Requirements
● Collaborates on the initial installation and configuration of a new database. As updates
and patches are required, the DBA handles this on-going maintenance.
● Coordinate and manage database activities to support application development projects.
● Known as ETL Tools (SSIS), data extraction, transformation, and loading refer to
efficiently importing large volumes of data that have been extracted from multiple
systems into a Data Warehouse environment.
● Report development and enhancement using reporting tools such as (SSRS, Power BI,
Tableau)
● DBAs create backup and recovery plans and procedures based on industry best
practices, then make sure that the necessary steps are followed.
● Monitoring for performance issues is part of the on-going system maintenance a DBA
performs.
● Troubleshoots with problems regarding the databases, applications and development
tools.
● Provide functional and technical support to ensure performance, operation and stability
of database systems.
● DBAs are on call for troubleshooting in case of any problems. A DBA needs to quickly
understand and respond to problems when they occur.
● Prepare documentations of all database procedures and guidelines.
● Provide high level support to business users on a daily basis.
● Assist in implementation, testing, and validating data and software systems.
● Perform data analysis of key problem areas to assist in root cause analysis.
● Assists with impact analysis of any changes made to the database objects.
● Audit data on a regular basis to ensure data integrity and quality.
